Russian ties top agenda of EU Foreign Ministers’ meeting

Failure to extend the EU-Russia Partnership and Co-operation Agreement to the ten new countries set to join the EU on May 1 could have “a serious impact on EU-Russia relations in general”, warned EU Foreign Ministers in their regular meeting on February 23. Ministers stated the EU’s enlargement would bring the Union and Russia closer together, increase opportunities for co-operation, and strengthen their joint responsibilities for promoting a European continent that is stable, democratic, prosperous, and free.
